Happy September! I'm sitting here on a Saturday morning, enjoying a salted caramel mocha from Tree City Coffee and thinking about sweaters and boots and cozy blankets, because even if we have a few more days of summer, it sure feels like fall is saying hello.

One of the most difficult things about being a children's and family portrait photographer in Northeast Ohio in the fall is knowing when, exactly, to schedule sessions for clients who want the most vibrant and colorful autumn backgrounds. This week I stumbled across a helpful link (thanks, Facebook!) and it looks like our "peak foliage" is going to arrive a little bit earlier than usual!

According to this Fall Foliage Map, the best time for colorful leaves in our area this year is going to be at the very end of September and very beginning of October. By mid-October, we will already be on the downhill.

That means if you are dying for those gorgeous colors for your perfect family portrait session, it's time to schedule now!
